I like this idea. I think having the swirl throughout the entire image would keep the bottom right from becoming a distraction. In my opinion, the three leaves in focus in the center would be better with the entire leaves included and no green. Or if you want to include some green, feather the edge so it blends better. Maybe try placing them so they look like they are coming out of the center of the swirl?
I played with this in Photoshop. I like your swirl better, but I don't have Topaz Motion Filter. I darkened the swirled layer so the in-focus leaves would pop a little more. |

Interesting chandeliers in this old church! My favorite part of this image is the lighting on the pews and hymnals. As a document of this church it is nice (other than it is not straight). However, my eyes keep going to the large vents(?) and the white ceiling. |

I shoot with a Canon R5. First setting I changed was to use back button focus! I only hand-hold with very fast shutter speeds and all stabilization features active. |

I used a tripod. My hands are not very steady so I use a tripod most of the time. |

I think it needs something in focus, or less in focus to make it more abstract. |

I like both versions. Maybe try brightening the processed version just a bit? Might not be the story you are trying to tell though. |

Autumn is my favorite season too! Love the reds. Nice image that tells the story of the season. |

The busy background makes the subject blend in too much. I like that it shows his tools, but maybe try darkening the highlights in the background and lightening his shirt. |
