Thanks Max. As a kid I was a fan of the Fantastic Four comic. One of the characters was the "Thing". That's what I named this print.????it was a natural choice. |

Love the soft water look. Just a suggestion. If you select the portion of the photo that has water and rocks in RAW, try using a little more of the "dehaze" slider. I think it would make the rocks pop a little more and make the water more dramatic. Hope you don't mind, I did just that in PS. |

I initially thought it was a drone photo. ;) The texture of the stone does pop off the photo. Overall I think it's great. I would have given a little more headroom on the cropping or shooting. ON a side note, Arizona is a photo mecca. Lots of great opportunities. |

Thanks Rick. I like the word, "punchy". I'm going to save that. And I agree, that overly contrast look does make it pop. Hadn't thought about filling it in. There are other areas like that on the photo that are similar. I do try to refrain from any large cloning or AI fix. But I do see your point. Thanks again for the reply. |

Love it. The macro guy in me wants to dial in close to the big water drop for a photo. Did you have any difficulty in keeping the water spots in one area? I might have mentioned it before, but I keep a spray bottle of water and glycerin handy. The glycerine give the water drop more stability. Not needed here, just a random thought when I saw the drops. |

Well done Alison. The reflecting properties of the water really make the photo. If I was shown the photo without explanation I would have said that it looked like an infrared image. That only because of the sky colors. And I mean that in a very positive way. I like it. Did you put a vignette around the image? My only other observation/opinion is that it is a little dark on the left. I think you lose a little more of that water reflection effect. |

Ray, the purple is actually the sky. It was a bright blue day so impossible to completely block out ambient light. I did mask the subject in RAW to lighten a bit and stand out even more. Thanks for the comment. |
