Thank you. I always say get the photo you need, then the one you want and finally, the one you didn't expect. |

Thanks for the comments, folks. As a point of interest, all of the water I've used up to this point has been distilled. Any impurities in the water register as clouding. I recently spoke to a friend who suggested I try de-ionized water...the purest of the pure. I'm awaiting my delivery of water and will give it a go. |

Thanks for that, Ray. Yeah, placement of the pearls is a random (luck) thing to a certain degree. Previous attempts at adding anything other than flowers has been problematic. What made this one a bit easier was that the pearls were strung together with a clear plastic filament. SO I was able to weave it into the stems and flowers. Unlike the flower the plastic will try to float to the top. The webbing at least held it in place long enough to freeze. Overall it's motivated me to go shopping at the local craft store to see what other "gems" have similar webbing. |

I've never seen this plant before. Very cool. Big fan of photo stacking.I've tried it outside the studio and have been consistently been foiled with the slight movement caused by the wind. Well done. |

Nicely done. Carnivorous plants are a relatively new diversion for me. Fascinating plants. |

Excellent photo. The detail on the bug using only the Iphone is tremendous. First glance I was thinking it was a stacked photo. I enjoyed your description as well. |

Thanks Murphy. I can only speak from my perspective. I've literally shot thousands of frozen flower photos over the past decade. And to your point, experimentation is what keeps my interests alive. I've tried adding all sorts of things to the water with mixed results. Fruits and vegetables, watch parts, stones, sticks and even small plastic pieces. It's an "unscratched itch" that I keep addressing with the camera.
This was one of the few times that the additions of "stuff" paid off in my opinion. Add to that the fact that, at least in this case, it was part of the wedding bouquet, and it made sense beyond just the aesthetics. As always, thanks for the input. I truly appreciate it. |
