Thank you all for your comments.
I encourage all members to consider looking at focus stacking as the preferred manner to photograph flowers - it really is not that difficult. There is plenty of material available on the internet.
If I am able to assist in anyway please just ask and I will hope to help. |

Hi Fred,
Well done. Would you consider cropping in on your image?
As I see this image it makes up about 1/3rd of the frame which I believe does not show this image at its best.
I agree with Yvonne about the leaf abutting the subject.
Would you agree to darkening this piece? |

Hi Pinaki,
Great capture showing good texture in the subject.
Would you consider isolating the subject and darkening the background which results in the main part standing out?
Also may I suggest that the image is unbalanced having clearance on three sides. |

Hi Yvonne,
I understand sometimes you come across a subject and the light does not give you a great opportunity to get the right result.
For what it is worth I see this image in two parts -
a) the background has too much white/light coloured flowers etc that you just cannot hide which is unfortunate as it results in a distraction from the main subject and in my view it looks so much better darkened
b) the main subject flower has shadows which too create a distraction.
May I also suggest that it is important to have clearance in
on all sides in placing a subject like your own in the frame
which gives balance. |
