Hi Charissa,
Thank you for your kind words. By the term "at home" I meant in our own garden not indoors. Sorry about the misunderstanding. The subject was on a plant.
The lighting is daylight and the background has been selected and darkened using blending mode (multiply) in Photoshop.
I then select the opacity tone that suits |

Hiu Yvonne,
Well done on capturing a bee as your subject. If it had been possible would you have been able to get in closer to the subject with your macro lens?
Would you consider tightening up further on your subject as much of your revised image is not in focus and does distract from your subject? Also would you think of darkening the green section? |

Hi Bev,
I always respect that if the image maker is happy with his/her photo that is all that matters.
Personally I do not know what to make of this image.

Hi Charissa,
I believe you have captured this subject beautifully. Sharp and great detail. Well done.
Suggestion - would you consider a square frame which I believe would give a better balance to the subject? Also increases the size of the subject in the frame. |

Hi Tom,
You have presented this image very well. Personally I would use the background of the image and darken it which possibly would give a dark green rather than black - personal preference.
By looking at your details, I am not sure why you would use F32 for 8 seconds? Would you consider F2.8/F4 at a much faster shutter speed - the lower F stop would give a much sharper image? |

Bev - one great aspect of viewing images is that everyone may have a different opinion and that should be welcomed. My view is that it would be very boring if everyone made the same comments. It is very obvious in Exhibitions where one group of judges give a high score and in another exhibition the same image receives a lower score.
In regards to your comments re my image. Yes - it has made a difference however has it effected the subject overall? I will leave it to other members to comment. |
