Thank you, Jim, appreciated. I've been on a holiday but just got back home today, hence my slow reply. |

Thank you Kathleen. Birding is my absolute most favourite form of photography so I'm working on it all the time. |

Thanks Roy, appreciated. I'm afraid I know very little about using PhotoShop but use Lightroom all the time. I appreciate your thoughts and suggestions. |

Oh yes, very close to us, like 10 mins, no more. How about that? |

Thanks Kathleen. If you're coming to Victoria, let me know - maybe I can show you around my area a bit too, show you kangaroos and wallabies in the wild and show you some of my favourite birding spots too. Definitely black swans. |

Oh thanks Sylvia. I was surprised to see my image up so quickly. Likewise, I'm going to enjoy seeing everyone else's images too. People call me obsessed over here.
It was someone with a P900 that sold me on this type of camera 3 years ago and I tried theirs out. Then I read reviews at DPReview and learnt about the P950 - very happy with it. |

I'm now your newest member :-)
I am always surprised to see white swans because, where I live in Australia, swans are black.
I found some of the grass a bit of a distraction too, but also appreciate the comment about a private moment and can see it in that way too. |

Love the cropped version you've done. I know these birds tend to disappear very quickly under water again so always a challenge to get them like you have achieved. Obviously you got its attention. |

I love the colours in this shot. Personally I like to do rule of thirds, if I can, for shots like this. I would have made it more like this so the bird is looking into the frame, rather than being more in the middle. I might have also given a bit more up the top if it had been possible at the time. |

Oh wow, what a great shot. I love it. And amazing looking birds. The wingtips look amazing and I love how you've captured the face and eye of the crane in the front. Love your description about the birdlife there too. |

Lovely shot and love the water spray from the back legs. Like the others, I would have liked to see more in front of the bird so it wasn't about to fly out of the frame, so to speak. But it is a great shot. I love learning about birds from other countries. |

Lucky you to see an owl! I long to see one in the daytime - one day!
I've enjoyed reading the comments and what Roy has suggested for editing the image further. I too, would have cropped it in. I use Topaz DeNoise if I find images are too noisy. |
