I like the exposure for the sunset and trees.I think I would crop out the large sand trap in the foreground.I find the upper 2/3 rds of the shot to be very strong and interesting without the second sand trap. |

I like the color image because it helped to illustrate this interesting process.I prefer the B/W image for the fine art aspect of the different textures and shadows.Regarding the B/W,I would personally choose to crop out the bright triangle shape in the upper left border because I found it a bit distracting versus the color image. |

I agree with others that this is a distinctly San Francisco shot with the fog rolling in or out in the background.Appreciate the contrast with an old church and a modern highrise. The overhead cables filled in some of the negative space in the upper right. The cables formed an image of a cross which I did not catch initially.I think the spiritual icon makes the image even stronger. I like the "sea' of colorful flags and composition with the inclusion of the 3 flags just off centered. The large tree in the background balances the scene nicely. |

I like the 3 dimensional quality of the image. The purple group of fox glove flowers in the lower third right of the photo seem to pop off the screen. The delicate branch and bokeh work well together. In |

Hi Kieh-Hanh,
Thanks for sharing your kind comments.I think you put into words as to how I felt about the scene and the incredible desert lighting.I had just packed my big camera back in the bag because there was too much glare. Thank Goodness for cell phones!

Thanks for the questions.I think the reddish hue on the large cacti is from refections on an adjacent cactus with colorful pink blossoms.I liked the results on your cloning out of the large cactus in the corner.Much more effective than mine. However, I prefer the silhouette with the framed bird or flower which attracted me to that part of the scene in the first place. |

Hi Ruth,Really liked the leaf silhouettes. Sometimes,I can't replicate the yellow cast of the moon like this one.Now I think I know why, because the moon was too far from the horizon. The composition of the silhou ettes and placement of the moon makes the image very strong as if I was viewing the image through a telescope! |
