Thank you Dr. Ernoe. I have a Sony A1 camera and generally use my 100-400 Sony Zeiss lens. Occasionally it would be nice to have 500 or 600mm focal length when a bird is farther away, but I like to keep my gear lighter. I do photography for fun! :) |

Roy, thank you for sharing the link to the tour company you joined in Alaska. It looks great and is one I will consider! :) |

I liked seeing the original and it is interesting how the left to right often has a more natural feel to it. Sometimes a simple subject (bird on a stick) tells a story with color, lighting, mood etc. The brilliant Oriole on the cactus nailed it! |

This is indeed a gorgeous portrait of a Bald Eagle. The eye has it!! Was the black background due to lowering the exposure compensation for the white head? It looks stunning. I wish I could get that detail, but at my 400mm an eagle is often too far away for me to capture it. I do like Butch's touch ups. |

Firstly, I love the golden slippers dancing on the water!! Great catch, side lighting and wingspan. Your exposure comp worked well with the white egret. |

Dr. Ernoe ~ I too think this scene looks magical!! Each bird with their very own bright orange berry makes me smile. :) The composition, focus and colors are exquisite. I would not change a thing. |

Peter, this is gorgeous! I love the Sparrowhawk's intense orange eye with catchlight, its soft detailed feathers, and the water droplets that make the image come alive. The background is a perfect backdrop. |

What an elegant Osprey!! The dynamic wings stretched to the top of the image shows off its power and beauty. I do agree that the background darkened a bit emphasizes the Osprey, especially reducing the highlights around its beak. Great, sharp capture! |
