What a cool shot Roy!! It does look like an ET creature rising from the tall grass! :) I like how the background softly mimics the bittern's colors and lines. It's a super fun image as well as teaching us about the uniquely positioned eyes of the bittern!

These are two of my favorite birds and it is a treat to see these juveniles interacting with each other! The crop is perfect, and I love seeing them in the dense leafy trees.
Your exposure and shutter speed captured well the action and lighting of this scene!

Wow, what a beautiful and unique bird! This is a striking and artistic shot!! I agree with Peter, the symmetry is impressive. And a perfect soft background to complement it. Lovely colors and detail as well! |

I also love mirror shots! Not always easy to find calm water, let alone having a bird's beak perfectly touching the water and ready to capture a water strider! Great photo and tells a wonderful story! I'm impressed you cleaned the water to keep it authentic. |

I'm happy you captured this beautiful warbler for us to see! You did an excellent job bringing out it's vivid yellow and iridescent blue!! Some birds are very 'flitty' which makes it extra special when get the shot! :) |
