97 Feb 24 Reply Thank you for your observation and bringing out the detail in the water! I often do global adjustments and can overlook a smaller area. Feb 17th
97 Feb 24 Comment Sounds wonderful!!! Feb 16th
97 Feb 24 Reply I tend to handhold as I am often on the move to find the best position. My lens is not too heavy but a monopod could be helpful. BTW I am going to Florida in 3 weeks for a bird photo workshop! Feb 14th
97 Feb 24 Reply Thank you, Roy. Yes, it takes being out many times when the conditions are less than ideal to also be out when something special unfolds. I try to enjoy both! :) Feb 14th
97 Feb 24 Reply Thank you for your positive comments. You always seem to have an artistic eye in looking at all of our photos! Feb 14th
97 Feb 24 Reply I too like misty scenes! It's understandably subjective whether the wood adds or detracts from the scene. :) Feb 14th
97 Feb 24 Comment It's all about the Great Blue Herons perfectly placed brilliant yellow eye!! The 800mm lens is surely a big plus, but it obviously takes a lot of skill to hold it steady. Do you generally shoot on a tripod? Creatively capturing a hidden bird is an art and you achieved it! :) Feb 14th
97 Feb 24 Comment Guess what Julia, in three weeks I am off to a photo workshop that will begin at Merritt Island! Roseate spoonbills are one of the birds I most want to photograph. :) The detail and pose are perfect as well as the still water reflection. The slight cropping and lightening that Roy and Jim did offer nice alternatives. I too like the image a little brighter. Wonderful shot!! Feb 14th
97 Feb 24 Comment We have white kites here and I love to watch them hover! I did not know there were red kites and you caught the sun on its underside beautifully to display its vibrant colors! Your perfect capture of the kite's expression shows well the complexity of emotion that is innate in wildlife! Feb 14th
97 Feb 24 Comment How lovely! First of all, the wings are stunning, so soft and graceful! The adorable face profile and peach body with detailed feathers are in nice focus. I like your inclusion of the bird feeder as it tells a story and adds contrasting color and texture. Great photo!! :) Feb 14th
97 Feb 24 Comment I love your brown pelican! I especially like its perky little top feathers, the tip of its beak enjoying the water and the beautiful detail in the rich brown feathers! It might be nice with a little more contrast in the background color but is also quite pretty as is. I like the highlights in the pelican lowered a bit. Feb 14th
