Thank you Julia. I lost some of the detail in the capture but was able to draw a little more out with lowering the highlights. I must go back to Alaska and do it again! :) |

Hi Tom ~
Thank you so much for your nice comment! I too would like more detail in the head. I'm always learning and appreciate the helpful feedback. :) |

Thanks for sharing. Yes, I'm familiar with the Dandenong Ranges ~ beautiful area, and I've been to the Werribee Open Range Zoo! |

Kathie, I have never heard of a Straw-necked Ibis - what a cool bird! You captured the iridescence (my favourite feature of these birds) in it's neck and beak beautifully! We have the White-faced Ibis here in Sacramento. May I ask which wetlands you spotted it at as I went to a few nature areas around Ferny Creek. A little tighter crop might be nice. |

Thank you Jim! And I agree that both Kathie and Roy's variations created nice separation and vibrance. |

Wow, how creative! The background looks like soft pastels which creates a nice contrast with the eagle. So fun to learn a new way to edit an image! |

I appreciate your correct observation. I think I may have clipped the highlights a bit when taking the shot and also could have lowered the highlights/exposure more when I edited it. Always learning. :) |

Your flicker tucked in the soft green background AND the soft grass in the foreground looks dreamy. I would think it might be difficult to have the grass so soft as it looks like he/she is almost touching it? Good use of your settings! The speck of red asserts itself perfectly in the sea of green. |

A perfect example of less is more. The complementary colors are striking. The gannets round eyes as they gaze upward look like iridescent shells! The soft light and shadows on the birds add a feeling of depth. Stunning! |

Your beautiful orange Oriole is adorable! I love its head in profile and wonder what it's so focused on. Roy's crop gives the Oriole a bit more presence and also takes out the bright highlight on the edge. |

Wow, that's a fancy bird! I love its position which shows off its vibrant colors and giant yellow 'feet'. I usually try to get wings sharp, but the 'soft' wing gives a fun sense of movement and the delicate lavender flowers add a nice balance. |

The detail is not ideal and the white head is a little blown out but I liked the 'American Indian' feel which you mentioned. Sometimes it's fun to try something a little different! :) |
