An appealing Venice canal scene Peter. Your choice of black and white has enhanced it's moderate grunge feel. The curved footbridge on which to rest the eyes on their way through makes a nice composition.
Others here are more knowledgeable than me about Nik Silver Efex but I too have used it on several occasions for my black and white images with good result. |

You execute big, bold colours with applomb Hans. Your composition explanation makes it clear that you consider and plan carefully what you are wanting to achieve. In this case, you have achieved a masterful image. |

Nice shot Bob, typical of the region. You have made the image from a good diagonal angle to the church.
I would be inclined to have had the church further right in the image to lead the viewer in rather than the main subject hugging to the left. That would change the background so it may not have been possible to do at the time. |

This is definitely a wow shot Doug, given the gorgeous colours are reflections from stained glass. The texture adds rather than detracts.
My eyes want to straighten the lines above and alongside the curved column. Perhaps use the Transform tool to see if this works. |

What an amazing shot of what I suspect was an amazing experience. I too noticed the land mass behind the curve of the tail matches exactly. The water cascading down from the tail is striking.
I wonder if increasing the contrast slightly would make it more so.

It is a pretty spot Donna and as is often said "the best camera is the one you have with you". Today's cell phones have remarkable camera capability. They also offer good editing options.
The colours are gorgeous.
I wonder how the image would look with the green line of grass at the bottom cropped narrower and a deeper shade of pink in the sky and reflections.
A delightful image. |

Thanks Bob for your insights. I will edit the exposure upper right in an attempt to bring it down as you suggest. I did actually have an image with a fine border but sent in one without. I am attaching the bordered image here. I think its less exposed in the upper right too. |
