Thanks Bob. I increased exposure on the rocks which were very dark but did not think to reduce the highlights. I'll give that a go along with cropping out the sky. |

Thanks Donna. Funny how I didn't see that root until you mentioned it. I did darken the sky a little but not enough it would seem. I will try cropping it out as well. |

What a difference from the before image Peter.
The sky colour and pattern is most attractive, contrasting beautifully with the steel grey of the water and the object/reflection. Great editing.
It may be worth 'tidying up' the right hand side of the horizon so it matches the left's clean, straight line and does not distract. I'd contemplate lowering the brightness of the sun just a little too.
Lovely work. |

The action you have captured in this image is excellent Frans, from the man's facial expression and his body and whip, to the animals' movement, to the mud and water splashes and drops rising high in the air.
The colours too, are wonderful. I wonder if you would consider darkening the background trees so the colours of the main subjects pop even more.
Fantastic image. |

I enjoy your creativity Bob. The colours are stunning and work really well together. Adding the water portion as a contrast to the vibrant reds/oranges/yellows was a master stroke and their transparency lets the colourful elements shine.
Nice editing for an attractive image. |

I think I like the vertical best Mark (main image) because it gives a greater sense of just how high the ceilings are and includes the full reflections on the floor. That would mean doing something about the bottom left corner to make the floor continuous.
The colour and light is quite stunning. I'd be interested to see how it looks with the verticals straightened too, at least a little.
Well captured. |

A classic autumn shot with beautiful colours Mark and good to add the human element too. The woman's red top and the man's rust top make them stand out beautifully in a colourful image. I'd consider cropping much of the tree on the right hand side away so that it becomes a less dominant part of the overall. Your main subject is the people along with the leaf colour and my eye is distracted by the large tree trunk.
Nice shot regardless. |

Ah, the joys of bird photography Donna. It is good to see this one in action eating its prey.
The eye is well focussed with a catchlight to set it off. Nice combination of settings to capture it although I wonder if the f4.5 was deep enough DoF for best focus as the clarity seems to drop away on the wing. This could be due to the crop or perhaps the removal of the front branch has left a little blur on the wing. As you anticipated, the sky replacement certainly does add interest.
Overall, a worthwhile shot. |
