Hi Donna.
Your crop is closer to what I was thinking, keeping the waterfall on the rule of thirds line but less trees because in my view they are a frame and not the main subject (except that little one leaning in which is a nice extra point of interest). |

A clever image Peter and I bet you had fun making it. I like the contrast between the grey/browns of the foreground and the orange skies of the background.
Perhaps you could consider removing some of the small distractions (tufts of grass, small gazebo background left) and definitely consider straightening the large gazebo.
It must be fun playing with your infrared camera. Keep going with it.

Gorgeous Doug. Such rich colour and a perfect black background with which to contrast it.
I agree with Donna about cropping up from the bottom - or even considering removing that leaf altogether. |

I do find a water in motion image attractive and in this case, soothing too.
Light coming from the right gives it a glow on both the rock and the water around it which adds to the overall scene. Well focussed too. |

A colourful and hazy sunset Rich. Happily, the colours have reflected in the body of water in the foreground of your image.
I wonder if you would consider cropping the bottom to remove the building and the right to remove the small patch of water there. Both distract me from the main part of the image. And yes, the horizon needs straightening too.
So many things to think about but worth doing to give your image more impact. |

A beautiful view Donna which you have captured well. The green of the surrounding trees contrasts with the white of the water and the colours of the rainbow. The rocks with water flowing over and through them gives depth and skillfully guides the viewer's eye to the main game, the rainbow and waterfall.
My thoughts only - would you consider cropping both sides where the trees are? To me, the trees are distracting from the centre of the image which is the star of the show. Keep some tree to frame the waterfall.
The water must have been flowing extremely fast to still be creamy at 1/800th second ss. Amazing - both the natural phenomenon and your image. |
