I too, enjoy the texture you have used on your image Peter. It looks a little painterly. Donna's clever darkening and sharpening has made a little more of it but you have captured a part of a pine tree to which most of us don't pay attention and it is intriguing. |

An striking image Doug. And it is clear why it was chosen by HMVC. Congratulations. Such a simple base image which has become something so much more. |

Such lovely light Mark. It gives the leaves a beautiful transparency. The background is nicely blurred, the leaves are in focus and I agree with Donna, it would be good if the branch in front was blurred so the leaves are the only part of the image that is in clear focus and a shorter DoF could take care of that, especially if you used manual focus. A simple but effective photograph. |

I like the mood too Donna. And you have caught the people (models?) in a lovely pose. I echo the cropping thoughts of Doug and Peter. Depending upon what you are trying to say artistically, either a square or a vertical 6:4 with the couple in the middle. |

Thanks Peter. Yes, the grass is dominant. Perhaps next time I'll take a lawnmower:) That red spot is a person in a red coat but clearly too small to be anything other than a distraction. Thanks for your comments. |

Agree Donna - the grass is dominant. 10 feet taller would be good. Next time I'll take a step ladder:) You are right about the house and I will spend some time waving my magic Photoshop wand trying to make it disappear. Thanks for your feedback.
PS: I'm not planning on sliding down any time soon! |
