Thanks for your thoughts Donna. There was no third tree so I would have needed to crop it to one. Such a difficult decision because to me, it loses much by chopping away half of it. With the trees being quite different shapes, I hope that mitigates a little the fact that there an even number of trees rather than odd.
Good suggestion about cropping a bit from the top. Thank you. |

The white on black background makes this flower study quite stunning Peter. Your focus is sharp and f22 gave you clarity front to back.
Well done. |

It is clear what your chosen genre is Diana. You have produced yet another beautiful flower image with sharp focus and beautiful blurred and complementary background.
We have these flowers on the other side of the world too but like Donna, I do not know what it is. |

Use the camera you have with you is a good philosophy. Whilst it may not be the most amazing city night light image ever, it is enough for your memory bank of your travels to Singapore in this instance. |

Easy on the eye Doug. You have selected a section of the image which is appealing without the rest of the image.
Your sharp focus takes us close in to the detail.
Making images that appeal to you is important even though in the competition world this may not be acceptable.

The iceberg is definitely the star of the show Mark and I think you have handled the processing well.
Like Donna, I suspect your image may benefit from cropping some of the bottom away. |

This is quite a work Donna - and a great concept. You no doubt, put a huge amount of effort into its creation.
I have minimal experience with this type of image and so subjectively my thoughts (and only my thoughts) are these:
- you have totally succeeded with the fairy bottom left. She looks real and like she belongs sitting with her elbows on the mushroom.
- the male fairy, I would make a little smaller to be more consistent with your pink fairy and where I see his position in the image
- the fairy above your granddaughter's head seems like she is going to slide off her mushroom. She may be better placed further up or even on top of her mushroom
- I feel like your granddaughter needs to be the size of the fairies as if she were playing amongst or with them (my thoughts only)
- Consider blurring the trees in the background some more and softening the colour of the leaves
You have placed the light beautifully to make it glow in the right places and your stars are a wonderful, playful touch.
Keep going with this type of photography. You clearly love it and practice will bring with it a refinement of skills that will make us ooh and aah in no time.
