Thanks for that. Will try and see how it works out. :) |

Beautifully sharp and probably well worth the effort of the early hour and pain in contorting yourself into the correct position to get the shot. I find it all a tad underexposed, though, so brought up the midtones using levels a little (just in the blues I think) I didn't attempt to remove that strange, dark shape just behind the flowers - it's getting late and I have things to do. But did you blur the background and leave out a bit perhaps? |

Lovely scene but it doesn't look like stillness to me - I can almost hear that meandering spring as it bubbles its way down to the pool... From a compositional point of view, I would remove some of the front of the pool as there is little of interest there beyond the isolated stones. I don't mind the bright leaf (?) on the edge of the frame though undoubtedly others would disagree. Happily, this cropping then places one of the major tree trunks on the two thirds line which is helpful to my mind. |

Really sharp subject although the very bright sunshine does not help the flowers due to the harsh shadows. I'm glad you toned down the background - rather busy to me and the blue seemed to challenge the role of the subject of the photo. I desaturated the blue a bit and shifted the colour just slightly, added some vignette and did a 'content aware fill' to cover the rather dark 'blob' bottom left. I then cropped a tiny bit. But a good capture, and I hope it did well for you. |

I don't mind the lack of obvious point of interest - to me it is all about the journey from the (rather too golden?) field to who-knows-what in those dark woods and beyond.
I did, though find the foreground a bit oddly 'warm' so took the white balance a little cooler, and darkened a part of the trees for extra contrast. I find it intriguing and interesting...the way ahead... |

Great poses there - makes me wonder what or who the one looking off to the right is watching and I love the fact one doesn't seem to care! In the original I do find the colours of the animals and the rock a bit too similar, though I admit I have no idea what the actual colour of lions should be! That strange 'y' shape on the nose (muzzle?) of the one facing the camera catches my eye. The others don't seem to have it and it is very sharp. I wonder if making this less apparent might help.... |

You are right about right hand side. If I'd thought I would've at least taken off a few leaves so it fitted better. Sadly, I didn't think! :) |

Thanks for comments. Yes, rather a grab shot so didn't think of just those logs. Landscape is far from my forte, sadly, but I would like to get better. But thanks for good thoughts! :) |
