Not sure what to make of this image. Clearly very well done and mastery of the technological challenge. However, personally, I'm not sure about the black background as it isn't clear that it is a reflection...maybe a bit more context would be good? Not sure.... |

I really like the background where the land peters out into calm water a gorgeous cloud. The foreground didn't seem as interesting. So I did a major crop, increased the tonal range so that there is almost white and a little black in the image and got the attached. I also removed a couple blurry objects in the water (boats?) as it was unclear what thy were, which further simplified the scene. See what you think. |

I liked this image - the heron is very clear and sharp...and then you notice what it is holding in its beak.... I'd abandon any hope of a Nature pic as you can see. Background simplified and midtones adjusted to get more separation and fewer distractions. I also cropped off some of the image as the background was so busy. |

Great interaction but I too would rather get rid of the distraction and enter the image as not-Nature, as it were. As a result I cleaned up the background and added just a bit of sharpening to the eyes and 'claws' to draw attention even more to the violence here. Fantastic capture though! :) |

OK - I 'read' this image very differently. I know nothing about horses. Before reading your notes I 'saw' a very old, careworn, mare with a foal. I once rescued a small dog who was very old and very ill, who still came on heat and could have had, in effect, puppies. If we hadn't found her, this would have happened if Mother Nature had run her course. I saw that old dog reflected in this image. I tidied up the distraction to the left just to leave just the old mare and what I perceived to be her foal. The harshness and cruelty of nature at times. Ok, not quite what the image was - but jut a reaction to it. |

I love this sky - and have lived in places with similarly stunning sunsets! So I have gone even further with contrast - and have cropped away more of the trees to focus on a flock of birds which just happened to be passing... OK, not the best flock, but I do fancy the birds add drama and a subject to the sky, to add to the overall effect. Just a thought..... I also cropped out more of the trees as they then seemed to be just a border... |

Thanks Barbara. :) One of the joys of the camera is how little noise there is... :) |

Beautiful. Fairly minimalist, but very nicely done. Great lighting and the background is perfect! |

I love the texture and detail on show here. I don't fully understand the lighting setup (2 seconds so very dim light I imagine) but the result is fab! |

Love this image - and the words are perfect: here is a pensive young woman 'getting involved', presumably with the art on display, but then also becoming part of it. Brilliant shot - well spotted, great composition and what a perfect expression. :) |
