Big Bend is on my bucket list of places to go and you have intensified that desire with this photograph. The purple that blends into the browns into the reds leading to a yellow sky. I think this is a beautiful image.

What great colors in this photo. The yellows of the engine are so vibrant. The front of the main engine is so crisp and clean. You really captured a train setting with all of the tracks leading in, the poles heading up, and the clouds just add to the interest. While I liked Dean's black and white, I really like the colors in yours. I did not find that the red signs were distracting but I would be curious to see how it would change the photo to tone the reds. You got a great photo between rains!

60 Mar 24 Reply Hi Rita,
Thanks so much for your comments. Now I have more to learn - dodge and burn? That will be a new one for me. I like the idea of working more on the rocks. Thanks so much.

60 Mar 24 Reply Hi Michelle,
Thank you for your comments. I think Dean may have come up with a solution for the sky by cropping the top off a bit. It really made a difference to do so.

60 Mar 24 Reply Dean,

I love your crop! Thanks so much. I think I was too focused on cropping out rocks and did not consider the top of the image. Great suggestion!

60 Mar 24 Reply Hi Damon,
Thanks for your input. I think my monitor must be offset too much to catch the horizontal line issue, and this is the second time! :) I will correct that.
The auto that I mentioned was in Light Room Classic, my bad for being so vague. That being said, I did use an iPhone (I think). This was taken 18 years ago! Wow! I had to do the math a couple of times to realize it was that long ago. It was in October, just before the snows really started.
Thanks for all of your comments as it is helping me learn.

Thank you for pointing out the techniques you used to create this wonderful photo. The light on the hands adds so much to this story. You really captured the potter's concentration and intensity. Very nice.

I like the way the yellow make a slow spread and then fades which then took me to the water droplets. What a lovely photo with nice curves.
