Debbie, thank you for the comments. I have not done much with editing. Damon sent me a great link to learn Lightroom Classic, so I am working on that. I have a great deal to learn and appreciate all of the input. |

This is so peaceful and lovely. I would love to be there right now. I appreciate all of the comments around your technique as I have so much to learn. I have tried to take waterfall photos and I am not sure I have ever achieved any as lovely as this. The water in the falls, above the falls, and below are all such beautiful colors. Really nice. |

I am currently, mostly retired, soon to be totally retired, I think. I seem to be having trouble making up my mind. I hope I was motivating - we certainly had tons of fun exploring when digital cameras and computers were available in the classroom. It was a great time to be there. |

Damon, your comments are most helpful. Thank you very much. I appreciate your perspective and will take them into consideration with future photos. I would love to say I had considered the background, but it would probably be a dishonest statement. :-)

Rita, I am new to all of this so while I am not able to comment on how to improve this, let me say this - I love what you have captured and it makes me want to learn more about this technique. The colors are vibrant and the angle is drawing me into the woods, heading toward the ocean! What a lovely photograph with so much interest. |

Damon, I love the interest in your photo. Your image is surrounded by what interests you and I feel you captured that well. The picture tells a story to me. Since I do not know much about editing, I am not sure this is a reasonable question but could the white item on the top left be altered or removed? With it so close to your head, it seems a little distracting. That being said, I could also make a case for it leading one's eye toward you, which is in perfect focus. I love the camera in the foreground. Just my thoughts, which I do not have much confidence in. :-) |

I enjoyed trying to figure out what this was, Dean. Back in my teacher days, I used to send students out of the class to take close ups of interesting objects, along with the zoomed out photo to disclose what the item was. This would have been a great photo to have had. I used this exercise to develop English skills and it was always a favorite activity.
I like the colors in your photograph; the white on the yellow. I had no idea of what it could have been until I looked at the original. I wonder if the photo were cropped to remove some of the dimmer areas on the left and bottom, if it would be a good edit? Being new to this group and examining photos so closely for the study group, I am not sure if that is a good suggestion. I did enjoy this "What Is It" submission. |

Barbara, I really like this photo. I have not done much in the way of still life, so your photo and Damon's comments are very educational for me. The placement of the apples, the lighting, and your choice of background and foreground are all appealing to me. I might add that I went downstairs for an apple not long after looking at this most attractive display! |
