Beautiful place, unreal serenity! I love the composition. At first glance, I was a little surprised that this is from you, Adi, as compared to your other posts, where the images were much more contrasty. This is the beauty of winter.

Hi Elsie,
I like your choice of selecting the tall tree as the main subject, with the open space around it. The patches of light on the ground and the bright sky remind me that this is a peaceful place where I can hear the birds chirping cheerfully.

Hi Lance,
First of all, as you are leaving the group, I would like to say thank you very much for everything you have done. It was a great treat to have you lead the discussions and studies. Thank you for the encouragement and feedback you have given me during my 18 months of participation in the group. Your insights into the art of photography will certainly influence and inspire me to improve and get better than ever. Best wish to you.
As always, this image is very inspirational to me, as I have always tried to use or produce soft light on still-life alike subjects. Your image presents elegance and mystery, giving me a lot of food for thought.

Hi Michael,
Thank you for presenting the story with these great captures. After reading the article you forwarded, I went ahead and watched a couple of documentary videos about the rise and fall of the Salton Sea. It is indeed a fascinating story. Your images in this series are well composed and well processed. I particularly like these black and white ones because I feel they invoke a stronger sense of the past in this historic place. Very powerful.

Thank you for the detailed comments - they make a lot of sense.
In regard to the star burst question, it's very interesting. I went back to examine the raw image, and the star trails were registered even with f/6.3, the lens used is Sony 20-70mm f/4 G, but the burst trails became more visible after I hit the 'Auto' button in Lightroom - which I often use to see what the software suggests. I am attaching both the before and after 'Auto' button images below.
