I love the peaceful view. The inviting little path is a very nice touch. Upon open the image I immediately realized this wouldn't an image from my digital cameras. I'd love to see it printed in large paper. It does not do the justice viewing this piece of artwork on the small computer monitor because I do not see the depth/3D effect.
p.s. I appreciated all the discussions above. |

Wow, what a great capture. I can see the "expression" of the lizard (lol). I do like Michael's edit to bring up more the lizard - the main subject in this photo. |

Hi Mark, I love the composition particularly the diagonal line of the canyon. The bushes at lower right corner add some nice frame against the piece of dark cloud. I do feel the image could use a little bit of more contrast, at least I would try to move the black point slide lower to compare. |

Love the form, lines and the details of the bricks. I opened the image before reading your description and recognized the weight towards the left due to larger black space at the bottom as well on the window on the top. It did not bother me because I feel the flow is going towards the Empire Building which is light and in different shape. |

Hi Michael, Congratulations on the new gear.
I did not have much experience on film photography so I have nothing add to the discussion on that respect, but I do enjoy reading the conversation between yours.
In light of Adi's comments I did download the image in my computer and tried various croppings. I agreed and understood your decision to have the bottom of the plants. I was trying to cut off the top shadow portion or lighten it up because I felt it was somewhat depressing, however it became different photo. After several tries I felt you had your reason to compose it this way. Another thing I wasn't sure is the blur of the far right branch. Clearly you could make it clear with a smaller aperture, I wondering what your thought was. Thanks. |
