I did spend a lot of time with exposure and sharpening. In the original I felt it was hard to define the wings (amd the chick) from the sand and so I left the sand below in focus to give the bird a little distance above the ground. Goes to show you that the chicks are colored to blend in with the sand. I have seen several plucked from their nest by Gulls. Aug 6th
97 Aug 25 Comment Great photograph of a beautiful bird. Shows you do not have to go to Costa Rica for bright plumage! I know they are hard to photograph as they never sit still. I assume it is on the edge of a bird bath and I lowered the exposure to make it less obvoius. I also lowered the background exposure a slight amount in a few places. Aug 6th
97 Aug 25 Comment Very nice Great Blue photograph. I thought lowering the exposure of the head, branch and edges of the photo slightly might bring more attention to the subject. I also darkened the bright spot on its left leg. Aug 6th
97 Aug 25 Comment Great catch, a great reward for what I assume was a lot of time and effort to get. I first i missed the chick and wondered if cropping and then increasing the exposure of the chick a little would help give more attention to the little one. Aug 6th
97 Aug 25 Comment Great photograph! Subject in focus, diagonal line of the wing bringing attention the bird's facial expression. Background and forground well exposed and blurred and lastley tells a great story. Aug 6th
97 Aug 25 Comment Christ, this is a very interesting photograph showing a unusual posture. I did have a little trouble figuring out what was what do to a lot of background distractions and its large belly domanating the picture. I cropped quite a bit, blurred and darkened the background and lightened the area around its left eye. My idea was to bring attention to the owl's "look". Aug 6th
97 Aug 25 Comment Butch, I have been cold too many times to make the trip you did for this photo! I think I will try Texas. I realy like the two birds in flight and thought cropping just a little brings more attention to them. I also sharpened a little in Topez Aug 6th
