Great catch! Sharp eye really makes this photo! Interesting fact: Snail kites have adapted to the presence of invasive island apple snails by evolving larger beaks, allowing them to more effectively prey on these larger snails. This adaptation has helped the snail kite population recover, despite the loss of their original habitat. |
