Great shot, I like to use 1/2000 for birds in flight, gives a very sharp image (with good focus). I played with the background some in hopes of showing off the bird. (took the temp way down and darkened it just a bit.) |

I played with several crops, as I had lots of space outside of the above image. In weighing in all the factors, I decided for the symmetry of the full reflection. I also wanted to keep the sense of motion in the reflection in contrast to the still image. The flamingo left last week after about a two week stay. Over that time I got 400 keeper photographs, so if I play with them as I have this image, I have a few years work ahead of me. |

Was shot about 1 foot above the water, I have a flip screen so I can sit with the camera in my lap 800 mm It was very bright so with the sun on the bird, the background (Mangrove trees) was relatively dark. The blue on the water ripples was actually a reflection of the blue sky. |

We have Bald Eagles all over in Central Florida, but it is hard to get close to them even with a large telephoto. I thought that since a lot of the bird was blocked by the branch, you might just focus on the head. |

Great color and I agree with it being slightly darker. It might have a little motion blur. I try to use at least 1/1250 and 1/1600 to 1/2000 if I have enough light to get there. |

Great photo. As far as the tail being cut off, I learn a lot more from my photos with mistakes than I do from my good ones! |

Great photo and I like your cropping. In my experience most birds just sit with their butt facing me! |

Great Picture, like the framing. I felt that the background could be a little darker. |
