I thought a little darkling, reduced texture/clarity of the background might bring more focus to the bird. I also ran it through Topez to sharpen slightly and added a little more exposure to the whites in its eyes. Owls are hard to photograph, since they are adapted to blend in with their habitat! Nice catch. |

Another version. Keep the detail of the bird and lowered the texture, clarity and brightness of the background to focus more on the Eagle. |

I am not surprised that this picture has won awards. It has emotion, focus, whites that are not blown out, color balance, and geometric form. |

When I was a kid, their abandoned hanging nests were prized. I like the diagonal branch. I might crop it a little. Also ran it through Topaz to see if it helped |

Great image. I like cropping to give a closeup of a birds details. The grass in the foreground is also nice. I also like a clear eye with a reflection. Looks like a house? Cropped and Topazed your image. |
