I agree, Great Basin is worth spending lots of time in, went there years ago, but unfortunately before I was glued to a camera. The shapes of the sand ripples seem very different from the color version to the b/w. I see the flipping left to right, but the rivulets in the color version look like raised areas in the b/w version. Like you turned it inside out?!!!?? Am I missing something? Or do I need more coffee? Great image! Great information, thanks |

I like what Diana has done--to see two photos in one. I will file that away in my brain! The cracking shards are very interesting. |

I'm learning alot from all your comments! I definitely prefer the conversion. The color of her jacket and the colors in the background pull me away from her face, so deep in concentration. |

I think I like seeing more blacks in the photo, as Diana did. I don't have a problem with cutting off the bridge. Wouldn't it be great to go back and do it again, maybe on a really slow shutter to smooth the water? But its a long way to go for one photo....oh well. |

This is a wonderful portrait, but I understand exactly what you mean. I would feel it wasn't MY photo if the set up and camera settings were the same as all the others. It becomes YOURS if you do something unique to you. Will we get to see what you decide to do?? |
