There are many beautiful birds in this conservatory. I was just fortunate to be at the right spot when I notice him fly in. Thanks for your comments. |

Thank you for your kind words. Thought this was a very unusual bird and waited patiently for him to turn and look at me. Unfortunately, many others never saw the bird as they were only looking at the butterflies. |

No Jim I did not use any special lighting, however, I did find the camera raw filter you suggested last time and I played around and made some adjustments to bring out the brightness on his head. |

Hi Jerry. You were probably very excited to see this Great Blue Heron. Also as Isaac suggests, if you were crouched lower you would not have as much room over the bird, avoiding the black smudge on the upper left quadrant. Hope you have other opportunities in the future to catch this great bird. |

Beautiful coloring which really stands out as he is calling his mate! Nice catch light in the eye. I did bring down the brightness on the cottonwood flowers and the background slightly. Let me know what you think. |

Sorry you didn't get to see the black swan. The heat has been terrible everywhere. The Black Stilt is one bird I have not seen yet in the wild. Nice catch! |

Welcome to Group 15. I like to crop and lightened rock Isaac did to your image. Actually makes your image stand out more. Love the bright red circling the eye. Looking forward to seeing more of your work! |

Isaac, this is definitely action packed! Communicates a message! Don't mess with me! Seriously, has visual impact and interest. You can see the action in the legs and also the sharpness in the birds and the water drops all around the image. Most would have shot that at a faster shutter speed but I like the slower shutter speed that shows the action. |

This image tells a wonderful story! Image very sharp. Pleasing blur to the background. Surrounding area compliments the subject with good tonal quality. Makes you smile when viewing. Well done!!! |

Thank you for your comments. It was truly a beautiful bird, with a unique combination of colors. I was very patient waiting for the right moment of the bird turning his/her head. I was worth the wait. |
