Thank you, Gwen. It's gorgeous country. I may head back that way again this fall. |

The Toltec & Cumbres Scenic Railroad is the train you mention. My girlfriend and I were on it the day before (departs from Chama, NM). I wanted to see more, so I hopped in my car and drove up to the summit while she was in a weaving class. Thanks for the compliment. |

I really like this image, Leslie. The contrast between the foreground color in the fireweed and the singed trees in the background tells a good story about the resilience of nature. It didn't strike me as overly processed at all. I do share your concerns about drought and what lies ahead this summer. March was exceptionally warm in California. At the last snow measurement of the season up near Echo summit, there was zero measurable snow, only the second time I remember that happening. Oddly enough, we're supposed to get a strong winter-like storm this weekend with heavy snow predicted for the crest of the Sierras. So don't give up yet on April showers. They're coming. |

Great shot, Gwen. Your persistence paid off. You nailed the decisive moment. I wonder what that catfish was thinking. The water dripping off its tail adds a bit more intrigue. Nice job with the focus and cropping. |

Simply splendid, Peter. You nailed the focus. I wonder if your use of a 400 prime helped in that regard. Anyway, I love the crisp focus. Great action. And, as Gwen pointed out, the snowflakes in the background enhance the image and help to tell a good story. Print it! |

What a colorful critter you have documented here, Sarita. The focus is sharp, the colors brilliant and your crop is right on. I didn't even know this insect existed. Good job. |

Very nice, Sherry. I agree with Gwen and Leslie. Ethereal is a good way to describe this image. Definitely print worthy. My only comment is just a question. I'm not sure what you mean by enlarging the sky to place the bird in a better position. Could you elaborate for me? Thanks. |
