Love the aspens, Leslie. Not crazy about the cow, though, especially from the back side. I probably would have had a different reaction if it had been a deer or big bull elk--and I know you have plenty of both in Colorado. This may be my personal bias showing, but the real star is the aspen trees. Your composition captures them quite well. You are so fortunate to live in a place where you don't have to drive far to see them every year about this time. |

Nicely done, Judy. Excellent composition. Technically spot on. I especially like the interaction among the lions. What I feel in this image is that must be the lioness on the left kept keeping an eye on her cubs. The one in the upper right seems to be keeping an eye on his/her sibling checking out his/her reflection in the water. Whatever their relationships, this image draws the viewer in and delivers an opportunity to appreciate wildlife in their native habitat. Great job. |

Gwen, this is an outstanding photo that is deserving of a large print. I agree with the others' comments. The image is well-balanced from both a compositional and color perspective. It draws the viewer in and imparts the feel of the place exceptionally well. The clouds add another nice touch. I, too, need to go explore the Canadian Rockies. Simply gorgeous shot. Great job! |

Fabulous photo, Peter. As the others pointed out, you nailed the moment with the wings and that red eye. I like the background. The colored ripples in the water adds a nice touch, giving it the feel of a seasonal image. Great job! |

A lovely photograph, Sarita. Monarchs, such beautiful creatures, have all but vanished from my corner of California. I used to see them all the time when I was growing up in Sacramento many years ago. We have a lot of sunflowers grown around here, though. Maybe I need to get out there and look for them in the farm fields over in Yolo County. Good job! |

Very nice, Sherry. Timing is everything with an action shot like this. The only tweak I would suggest is the branch this bird is perched upon seems a tad overexposed. You could give it a touch with an appropriately sized brush in Lightroom or Photoshop. That also might provide more balance with the darker corner in the upper right that Gwen mentioned. Just a thought, though. An excellent photo nonetheless. |
