94 Jul 25 Reply Thanks, Sherry. There was more than serendipity at work here. Our workshop leader knew exactly when the rainbow would appear. And, yes, there were a lot of people at Tunnel View, but not many with "real" cameras on tripods. Mostly toursits with smartphone cameras and no clue about the rainbow until those of us in the workshop pointed it out. When I'm looking through my viewfinder, I don't care how many tourists are milling about. It's what I see and how it makes me feel that matters. Jul 21st
94 Jul 25 Reply Thank you, Sarita. Yes, I did use a polarizer, but our workshop leader admonished us to use it carefully so as not to cut out the rainbow effect in the waterfall. Jul 21st
94 Jul 25 Reply Thank you, Leslie. It was a special moment indeed. Jul 21st
94 Jul 25 Comment Excellent capture, Leslie. Two fascinating subjects interacting in nature. A blissful moment for anyone with a camera. The only thing that's mildly distracting is the branches on the right and the out of focus part of the plant on the bottom. Maybe a tighter crop would keep the viewer's eye trained on that red pollen. Wild! Still, a fabulous shot. Jul 21st
94 Jul 25 Comment Fabulous shot, Gwen. You and the other birders in this group capture some fantastic scenes. I agree with the others' comments. Jul 21st
94 Jul 25 Comment Great shot, Peter. Excellent composition and great DOF. I think Sherry did a good job of describing the story it tells. My only minor suggestion, and this is just a personal preference thing on my part, is add a little vibrance to bring the color up a tad. Regardless, you have a winner here. Jul 21st
94 Jul 25 Comment You really captured the moment very well, Sarita. The primary puffin is the story, so I tend to agree with the others. However, I would approach it differently. Turn it into a vertical. Crop from both the left and the right. Then you'd have a really nice puffin portrait worthy of a contest or a print to share. Jul 21st
94 Jul 25 Comment Absolutely love this shot, Sherry. You captured the moment perfectly. The sharp focus and detail on your primary subject is captivating. I don't find the bottom of the photo distracting at all. In fact, I agree with you that the water on the bottom left and right helps provide context and implied depth to the scene. That's more important from my point of view. Jul 21st
