Given the circumstances, I think you did the best you could in capturing the shot. So your subject trumps whatever technical shortcomings you encountered. I suspect extensive cropping may have resulted in the pixelation in this image, as Sherry indicated. Would love to see the original image for comparison. Even so, I noticed something in the monkey in the upper right when I blew it up several times. It looks like there is a baby clinging to its mother's underside. Is that right? Can't be sure. Thankfully, after hearing about everyone's experiences with Howler monkeys, I'm glad they aren't on my bucket list of wildlife to see. |

Beautiful image, Judy. Excellent choice to use your macro. Probably gave it more sharpness in the detail than you would have gotten otherwise. I love the colors and the vibrancy in this shot, too. Did you make any adjustments in Lightroom to enhance those? This is a question, not a criticism. As we all know, there are many ways to interpret what our RAW files reveal. |

Nice photo for the reasons mentioned above, Donald. My eye was immediately drawn to the detail in the wingspan of this scavenging species. And they do serve a very valuable ecological function in many different environments. I didn't even notice the pixel mashup at the end of the bird's beak until Sherry pointed it out. I like the updated version much better. Great shot, Donald. I like also that it was a recent shot, not something out of the archives. |

Excellent photo, Peter. Refreshing camera angle and good capture of this elephant keeping cool. Your focus was spot on as the wrinkles in it skin attest. Wait a minute. You shot this at 17 mm? You're a braver man than I am. Those tusks look, uh, scary. Glad you survived. Outstanding! |

Sarita, very nice photo capturing a great gesturing moment. Wish I could get someone to do that with my noggin. Good exposure. Sharp. I think a tighter crop also would have been helpful, especially along the right side. That one branch kinda takes the viewer's eye out of the frame. Nice job, nonetheless. |

Sherry, This is an absolutely outstanding photograph. Your subject is tantalizingly brilliant. And shooting it backlit like this makes it even more brilliant. Nice DOF to help your Spoonbill stand out in the frame. I suspect we will see more of this type of thing with your new lens. Awesome job! |
