I agree with Judy. How lucky you are, Leslie, to live in a place where beautiful wildlife like this is prancing around in the snow. I presume you used some kind of a long lens. I would have liked to have seen more breathing room in front of the fox to give it a little more drama, like it was hunting something just ahead of it. Very nice photo, nonetheless. Good job. |

Very nice, Judy. Technicals are all spot on, but I think it's your creative decision to let your subject blend into the background that makes this shot stand out. I had to do a double take and ask what's going on here. To me a shot that invites the viewer in like that elevates it into the realm of fine art. I hope you make a print and share it with others. |

Beautiful shot, Donald. You capture the essence of this warbler very well. Good exposure, nice even light with just the right amount of DOF. Since you were out at 500mm, I'm not sure how close you were to your subject and, hence, how much cropping you had to do. I'm not as much of a wildlife photographer as the rest of you. But the thing that really makes this shot stand out for me is your camera angle. It appears you were looking down from a higher vantage point, resulting in a nice perspective. Good job! |

I agree with the others. A very nice Silhouette, indeed. I also like the various shades of gold, especially close to the setting sun. And all this from a zodiac. You must have a steady hand, Peter. I've been on those things and they can be very bouncy in choppy water. Very nicely done! |

My first reaction when I looked at this image was "What the heck is that?" Now I know! Nice composition. Focus right where it needs to be--on this giant squirrel's eye, but the rest of the animal is in good focus as well. Another thing I like about it is you show just enough of the animal's habitat and feeding preference to educate the viewer. Nice job, Sarita. |

Very nice, Sherry. Looks like you had a successful trip to Costa Rica. I'm impressed at how you were able to capture sharpness in the critical part of the image yet still preserve the motion in this little hummingbird's wings--even at 1/2500 sec. I also like the water droplet at the end of the bird's beak. Good job! |
