Here is a different image from the same shoot. It's processed differently and I like it better. |

Thanks! Actually I really don't worry all that much about PSA judges like and dislike. Like this PSA Facebook competition "image of the week competition", I've seen some images win that had obvious technical defects. That said I do cater to other people's aesthetics. I do 4 types of photography: What I like, what my Facebook friends like, what the Fort Collins Camera Club (non PSA) likes and what the Loveland Camera Club (PSA club) likes and they are all slightly different. It's all about having fun... |

Nice photo. I would love to see the original from which this was made. I think there is a little too much in the foreground at the bottom. And, I like the suggestion of selecting the maple leaves in front of the pagoda and cranking up the saturation. Also, the tree on the right is a little distracting.
I personally love this sort of image. |

This is a great photo. I really don't have much to add. The "stop action" water drops in the air and the sharpness of the boys as they move is wonderful. The vegetation on the foreground is also wonderful. |

The original is a bit under exposed so there's going to be a lot of noise. As for composition, I can't see it as one image because the bridge and the distant city make it kind of two different images. Also there is a slight halo between the left side of the bridge and the sky.
I think that a composition where you are looking across the bridge toward the distant city would be more powerful.
I do like the warm colors. |

I love the symmetry of the image. I'm a big fan of symmetry myself. It also has great depth.
There is some distortion where you removed the guy standing on the right. I did a quick edit and used a mirror image of the left side to fix this distortion. This was a quick edit so it isn't perfect but it shows what can be done.
Finally, this is an excellent choice for Black and White. B/W for this image works much better than color in my opinion. |

This is a great image! It's very well processed given the lighting conditions. The window looks really good in your final image but it doesn't quite match the amount of glare on the walls and floor. You have reduced the glare quite a bit and as a result the areas inside with the glare look a tiny bit "over cooked".
One other note, the white of the ceiling looks like it has some color artifact on it or is this water stains from a leaky roof?
I really don't have a problem with the sharpness.
But none the less, it's a great shot. |

I love this photo. I like Jim's edit for the background because I can see some artifacts in your background where you removed the rope and vines. They show up as areas of lower resolution in your image. I'm guessing that you used Generative Fill to remove these items.
The eyes and face are very sharp and immediately draw your attention. The wings have the perfect amount of motion blur on the edges to suggest movement.
Great capture! |

Thanks! I got a whole series of these images that day including some with more separation and some with no moon at all. I was up there that day to photograph the "Ghost Forest" which I had observed the day before. |

You are totally correct, but your version of this image is a completely different subject. I got that one also but only the one with the moon shows up here since we submit only one per month. Your image is great as a monochrome because it's more about light and dark and texture. My image is more about the moon as a subject. Thanks for your feedback. |

Thanks for the feedback. Yes I got lucky to catch the moon like this. I hiked in there only to capture the trees and the moon was a big bonus. Good idea about PSA Image of the Day. |
