James, Sorry for the late reply as I just had knee replacement surgery. I used PS. What I did was this: Duplicate the base image > selected the helmet and hood using the new AI object select tool to select the helmet and hood in the duplicated image > created a layer mask on the second image based on the object select results > then using the select object results I used content aware fill to remove the helmet and hood from the base image > then, finally I blurred the base image. |

Thanks guys. I agree that the selves weren't a good idea. I'm doing a whole series of these and will use your advice. |

Thanks, two of my local friends said the same thing about the sleeves as well. I like removing the fingers also. |

Great! Give it a try. I also used all artificial light for this for control. |

Reminds me of where I grew up (East Tennessee). I don't like the mailboxes being cut off. They should be the subject in this image. Also, the white plastic fence grabs your attention and places a barrier between the viewer and the background. |

Tipping the image is really nice. Maybe just a bit to much saturation? The black background is wonderful. |

Nice Shot! I blurred the background more, reduced the contrast of the background, darkened the highlights of the background and gave it a square crop. And I like your original color. Those are my thoughts anyway. |

It seems that I created a halo around the boat. I would fix that with further edits. |

I like it better with the second boat removed also.
The sky doesn't look quite natural to me. It looks kind of like our sky in Colorado does when there is a big forest fire near by.
I edited your photo and added a magenta filter to the sky. I also brightened up the area around the boat and reduced the saturation on the boat. Remember that colors aren't as vivid in the dark due to the nature of the human eye. I would also remove the second boat if it were my photo as was pointed out previously. |

This looks a little over cooked to me. However, I know several photographers here in Colorado that sell to tourist and this sort of processing seems to sell well.
I feel the buttes are a little too dark.
I also thought that this would make a great black and white, so I converted it. I also cropped it and dodged the shadows. |

I love this image exactly how you presented it. I would consider darkening the out-of-focus area beyond the tree. I'm not big on bird photography myself but this is a great shot. |

I like your edit but there appears to be a halo around the hands. |

My internet is back up and running now.
I have 3 leaded crystal balls one each 3, 4 and 6 inch. I find the 4-inch ball to be the best for photography. This photo was made with the 4-inch ball. Because these are leaded crystal, they are very heavy. The 6 inch one is really difficult to hold in one hand because of the weight.
You can get these balls on Amazon and eBay. |
