So glad I popped in to visit another phone discussion group. Big Photos seems like a really useful app. Thanks for sharing.
I love the closeness of the edited photo. Well done! |

Thanks for suggesting this. I need to keep looking at this to really decide if I like the tighter crop. It definitely has less going on and brings the focus more on the player. |

Thanks for posting this.
I love the light in the color version, but there's something very appealing about the b&w. |

Bill, can you post your monochrome vision? I'd love to see that transformation as you saw fit. |

Jack, I just zoomed in again. I think that VERY fine line is a shadow from the pole. |

Thank you, Kiel-Hanh. It really was a story in action! I was sitting at a bar, a group of boys walked along, looked like they were passing by on their way home from school, when one of them pulled out a ball. And meanwhile, it was so chilly. I was shivering, but stood to watch them. |

Thanks. I just kept snapping.
My husband wanted to know why I didn't just shoot a couple of live photos, but I think I got it a little bit sharper this way, although it's not completely sharp. |

I thought the same when I saw Steve's image. It was an interesting scene to appear right before me. I'm glad I snapped it, even though it did need some serious cropping to just keep the elements in the frame that I wanted. |

Thanks for all your feedback. Yes, I loved the story of it. And it just happened, as I was sitting there shivering!
I think I'm still having trouble resizing my images to post to the group. I know that I lost some resolution by the cropping I did. But then I resized the image beyond that, which perhaps I didn't need to do? |

Oh, yes. Much better. And I see what you mean about the space around the player. |

Had seen nothing about this light show. But what a cool photo. I like seeing the light on the right side of the monument. |

Yes, without the pole, the photo would seem blah. This way, it radiates peace.
What I most like are the shadows on the grass. Having the pole in the shot makes those shadows more eye popping for me. |

I like the action shot. I love the player's shadow.
Thanks for explaining your process when using a live shot.
I can't decide if I find the overhang you didn't crop out distracting or not. |
