Pat, I found the placement of the sign in front of a stairway that is basically unusable pretty ironic. If the stairway was in good repair, properly placed, the sign would make total sense. Who lays a rope ladder across a dune?
I love the dull colors of the photo taken on a gloomy day.
I now agree with the majority that the photo would probably benefit from editing out the post on top. I didn't even notice it when I took the photo. |

Thanks Kieu-Hanh, your comments remind me of why I took the photo in the first place. I don't get to the beach often but when I do get there, I love walking on the beach to observe the changes to the dunes since the last time I was there. Last September we had a bad storm. Much of the beach access was washed away or became unstable. Here's an example of something unstable that as of last month has not been repaired. |

Every once in awhile, I'll come across something this in a park that I walk through. I'm not creative enough to lay something like that out. So kudos to you! |

Ruth, you've given me something to think about. How the leading lines lead to nothing. Something to keep in mind in the future. Which, in fact, was the reality! At that point, on the beach, I truly couldn't see anything above due to the angle of the beach and the dune. |

When I was backpacking across western Europe during college, we missed dinner more nights than we made. But then we got so used to siestas before dinner that we missed dinner in Amsterdam because they ate so early! |

The lighting in this photo is truly spectacular.
I wonder how it would look with some of the foreground cropped out and if would eliminate the leading lines or the sense of great reflections by doing so. |

Excellent sharpness. I also like how you included the settings from the iPhone, something I never really look at.
I love flower macros. I wonder what it looked like before you upped the vibrance. |

Wow. What a front porch!
I find it very difficult to capture fog effectively, using either phone or camera, so I'm very impressed with how you got that. I can only imagine this scene in several different lighting scenarios. |

Great Easter scene! Did you lay out the props on the field? Cleverly placed. |

The girl's eyes are so compelling! The softness doesn't bother me, either. And the eyes, for me, are so compelling that I didn't notice the hand seeming a little bit large. |

I love Spring Training. And I like the black and white. And I love how much of the scene you've got in the shot.
But like Jack, I'm a little unsettled (for lack of a better word) with the slant of the photo. I wonder how it would look if you straightened it in your phone's camera app. |

Thanks. I'm glad you like the sign. That's what drew me to take this particular shot. I guess I was so focused on the sign that I didn't even consider that the steps would be leading lines. But yes, definitely see your point. |

Jack, I agree with you about the post on top. I debated trying to figure out how to remove it using mobile Lightroom. But I do like the sign on the bottom. The fact that the steps are now sitting IN the dune, I thought it was interesting that there was a sign immediately in front warning people to stay off the dunes. |
