Another great bird image from the "Bird Man of PID Group Seventeen!" I like the action you captured with the spray showing and the wing angle. Nice reflection in the water. Spent several days in Victoria - were you able to catch the "Waltz of the Ferries" in the harbor? Quite the ballet :) |

Taken from the train, you say. I would have expected more out of focus sheep or a blur on the background. That said, this is well composed.
You just might make it in this group :) |

Sheldon, I appreciate adding the bonus images. Actually liked the horse in motion better. Could burn down the fencing to give more definition to the horse. Your image to be reviewed is well composed considering the weather. I found my focus going back and forth between the two horses. I didn't know it was a fence and thought it might have been hills or mountains in the distance. |

Peter, you neglected to add in the "head count" - there were two! |

A nice contrast to Dick's Bird of Paradise submitted this month. The choice to go soft and subtle works here. I'm feeling a natural flow from the florals into the background. The small amount of texture in the background provides a type of vignette for the still life.
Like what you did.
P.S. you are given one excused absence for not posting people this round! |

Well done, Sir Richard! I have several Birds of paradise in my folders from trip to our fiftieth state. That said, this is one of the more impressive ones I have seen. As mentioned, color and detail were handled well. The background has a relaxing feel to it."Botanical Portrait" suits it well. |

John,I'm with Peter on this one. There are some post-processing tools that create interesting results, I don't think this pencil sketch worked particularly well with this image. Most of the car decals/emblems have a character to them, I think other tools may have been a better choice. But, that's why these choices are put there - experiment! |
