Sheldon, you captured a special moment here! The color, the angle, the detail all work to make this an exceptional shot. I personally wouldn't try to change a thing, it is the moment you saw. Thank you for posting it with us.
And, thanks for finding his obit - another great story of sacrifice that was the norm on 9/11. . . |

Dick, your feedback is greatly appreciated and, more often than not, worked into my revised image. Here I waited in the chilly night until the train was passing though my frame. I do like the final results but will take a second look with your comments.
Thanx - have a great Christmas! |

Glenn, great color throughout this image! The greens and the reds are popping off my screen!!! The detail is spot on but that's one of the signatures of a Glenn Red image. I expect nothing less.
The large leaf to the right of the red plant appears to be taking up much of the frame and perhaps could be given a lesser role in this frame. I'll bow to Dick on plant identification. |

Peter, I really need to tag along on your next Steampunk shoot. You have shown some very interesting and different takes on the gathering. This is another one that has so much going on in it - in a positive way. The woman on the track could carry this image on her own as well as the train being a separate one as well. However, they both compliment each other in this scene. A very minor point, could you open up the shadows on the wheel area of the train? I think there is a lot there.
So when should I book my flight? |

Welcome back, Udayan. I did see some your work in other places - kudos to you. Once again I echo Dick's thoughts about a tighter crop to eliminate the distracting background. Also there is a lot of open area in the upper left which would be eliminated with the crop. I added my resulting image with the crop and some lessening of the saturation |

Keeping it simple works here, Dick. a great study in patterns and shadows. I think the amount of detail on the leaf enhances the impact of the shadows. Even those shadows appear very sharp! |

I'm with Dick on this one. Kudos for the creative post-processing but the overall image leaves me wanting more. Perhaps starting with a more interesting subject and then applying this technique might work. |

Such an improvement over the original which I, too, thought was too busy. There is much detail in the image - it was fun to look over. Wonderful job on the post-processing. I don't think I'd have that much patience to work it as you did. Although you eliminated that extremely busy background, I don't feel this current background is the best look for him. Just my two cents. . .
