Udayan, thanks for the invite - just finished packing my camera equipment and should be on the next flight to India. I'll see you at the airport when I land. Wait, you neglected to tell me the city so I'll just roam around until i bump into you :)
On second thought maybe next time. . . |

Nothing like putting pressure on me, Bev! However, you should have stopped by a few rounds ago to see my frequent imperfect side of photography. |

Udayan, I agree with Dick in that your country has some very colorful people in very colorful places!
I like the current crop that you did and do not feel the wires are a distraction. More of a concern for me is all of the wording behind those women. However, it does add to the overall story here.
Looking forward to seeing more of your land.
I did try to drop the saturation in this image and lightened up the face of the young man. |

Glenn, if you continue to post these incredible bird photos, I'm going to simply respond with "refer to the comments from the previous round!" as I have run out of accolades.
I think you purposely sent us the unedited image with the leaf in the upper corner. It was your attempt to show that there is hope for me (and, perhaps the rest of us).
Edited version is Glenn-worthy! |

Tip of the helmet to anyone who competes in these rides! I would be pressed in driving the 500 miles. We have a PanMass Challenge which raises donations for Dana Faber (cancer treatment facility in the Boston area). They have raised almost $600 million since it started.
I like the interaction between the two cyclists here. Do you have a few frames later when their hands are meeting? I agree with Peter in that the hubbub behind them further defines the story. Fortunately those riding donned light green outfits which helped to break the almost monochromatic look of the rest of the image.
Did you get their names so you could share this moment with them? |

Kudos on the thought process here. Always rewarding when one can pull out a previously captured image and transition it with another one.
I'm not sure if the whole concept works for me. I decided to apply a more radical crop which featured just the woman and the branches. The green ground cover was a slight distraction. Also, upon closer look, I see several of the branches to her left look as if they were obviously duplicated. Not sure what was the intent there.
I feel the overall look is competition-worthy and I'd be interested in how it does. |

Dick, I felt you gave the viewer enough information to enjoy these falls. A little bit of the sky and some foreground was just what we needed. At least you had the water turned on, it was bone dry when I was there a few years ago!
Do you think there is more detail in those rocks?

John, a fun way to spend some down time. Isn't it amazing to see the colors in the final twirl and what was in your original (thanx for posting it as well)? Try experimenting with the settings suggested to get a completely different look. I got hooked on these a while ago. I wondered how a certain image would fare as a twirl.
At a camera club competition, someone submitted one of these and the judge was blown away! Those of us watching knew of the technique and were not that impressed!
Has the potential of becoming a great pinwheel. |
