John, because you asked - here is the monochromatic look.
Now, before I file this image away does anyone have another request?? |

Sheldon, you certainly have captured the story here. Great detail throughout!
Like the embers shooting out from the fire and the glow it leaves on the hearth. I did not notice the right hand until Dick pointed it out. So much going on here, I find it a minor concern.
Looking for more from this shoot. . . |

Stop it, Glenn!
No more of these amazing captures!!
I'm with Peter in asking for something we can offer some constructive criticism. How about nice background color?
You must be running out of wall space by now. Hope you are able to offer a display of these at your local library or nature center.

Ursula, great effort getting this ode "captured." A colleague of mine has managed to shoot hundreds of these (even from a kayak) and has them all tack-sharp.
I do like the angle you have with the critter (dragonfly or damselfly). Its color does help to isolate it somewhat from the background. Perhaps darken down the brighter areas behind it? |

Great interaction between the three interested parties, Peter. Excellent effort to tone down the background on the original. Being a little late to respond, I am able to look at your revised image. Much more impactful with the greenery there.
Certainly competition worthy now! |

Dick,
A wonderful family moment captured by your trained eye. Surprised or unsure - it didn't matter as it now appears their trust and love for one another held true.
Perhaps, the image should be framed and presented to them on their tenth? Or whenever cake is supposed to be the gift of choice :) |

Tough call - my initial reaction was the centering of the couple to be a concern but then I looked over glenn's response and see the value of the road leading into the couple.
Also, I agree with the others on your selection to add a touch of sepia to this final rendition.
I find these living histories to be a wealth of photo ops. In my neck of the woods there is a Revolutionary War encampment of over one thousand participants and a WW II event with planes and tanks, and soldiers from both sides! |

Well, I'm going with the consensus and dropping that final crane - I did check with the MSCPA before cropping it out and they had no issue with that :) |
