I am in total agreement with the rest of the guys of PID 17. Quirky, great display of humor - the even number does not bother me as going back and forth between the two stools was fun.
I like Peter's suggestion of another set of legs. Leaning toward someone in stilettos - either a guy or girl!
Keep up the entertaining images, Ursula. |

Thanks for the feedback. I will tone down that sky as it was a beautiful cloudless day. however the foliage was not in prime time. with a little help from my NIK family of filters, I was able to create my own foliage to give the church some pop!
I have attached the original |

Thanks, John.
Is 1891 considered old? The Church is on our national register of historic places. |

Well, Glenn, I am standing with Dick!!! This is a superb shot. Such detail throughout, especially in the bat with the 2.5 sec. exposure! Really like the black background which helps me to spend my time on the bat and vegetation.
Another wall hanger and submission for nature competitions. . . |

Sheldon, my first impression - before I read your bio on it - was that it was electric current from my science experiment classes!
Do like the reflection in the foreground which led me onto the escalator and then into the "heavens" of the ceiling. Great lead in here.
Just a thought of opening up some of those shadow areas on both side - just a tad. |

Peter, I liked the sharpness (no pun intended) in the barbed wire of the foreground. It had to be in focus to make the rest of the image meaningful. I'm not sure if I can see shell-like structures that could open up. I do see what looks like a tower at an airport on the left and a barge afloat on the right, am I getting close?
If either of the two aforementioned structures were the defense mechanism, I probably would have tried to focus more on it through the barbed wire.
I do like the overall theme with the wires and the long spikes below them. |

Dick, as a walk-by, it is an image to be enjoyed. If it's technical and composition feedback that's needed, it has issues.
Although a great shot of the wide variety of offerings at this shop it was a little too busy for me. Perhaps, a squared cropping and straightening of just the bottles would give the impact. There appears to be the shoulder of someone on the right, a bit of an annoyance. And the glasses on the top are cut off on the left side as well as the items on the bottom.
It is colorful to say the least. |

John, how does that saying go, a bird in the box was worth more than several on the beach, or something like that? Glad you stopped to share this unique nesting spot with us. I don't think it would qualify as nature due to the plastic box and the foot prints in the sand - but I'll bow to others more experienced in this field.
For me it was all about the location - the box. Have I seen better shots of these little guys, sure BUT it's all about the setting for me. Not to mention, you can easily pick up the nest and carry it home :) |
