Peter, I make the same offer I made to John. - tour of our covered bridges in Vermont as Massachusetts has just a few.
Here is one of the moderate size ones - Cambridge Junction.

Well, John, if you do skip across the big puddle and land in New England, I'll get you around to see quite a few of them. Vermont has well over seventy in very good condition. some as short as fifty few - others thousands of feet in length. |

Simplicity rules this image, John. And, you further simplified it with the decision to go monochromatic. I think the bricks, if red, would have been a major distraction.
I did find the even number of pans a concern as I was bouncing from one to the other. |

Like the tight / close-up of this creature. Eyes are mesmerizing.
Detail in the hair seems to be handled well. There is something about the area around the nose and mouth that had me wondering? Could it be the bright sunlight? Could it be a need for more contrast? Just wasn't sure. . . |

Peter, kudos on the effort to put this together! I especially appreciate getting the mirror look of the left side.
I did find it a tad busy as my eye was wandering around trying to find some place to rest. |

Ursula, she is adorable! I trust her mom loved this image.
Great facial expression, love the eyes. I didn't mind the softness - more of an issue if it was an older model but for this youngster, the effect works. |

Great color! Well lit!! Spot on detail!!! Interesting subject!!!!
This has it all, Glenn. I do like Dick's idea of enclosing it with a thin line but I prefer a neutral gray and not white. |
