Great contrast with the butterfly and the flower, Glenn! I think there is more detail in that red and might be pulled out - it appears somewhat blurry on the left side. I did find the out of focus leaf on the bottom left and the brighter background objects a slight distraction. Did you consider a tighter crop with just the butterfly and the flower? |

Welcome, Ursula! PID 17 awaits your imagery and commentary!
I, too, liked this image. The overall impact with the three spires, the colors in those spires against the blue sky and the wispy clouds breaking up that blue sky.
Good eye in seeing this composition. I know this area of the southwest can be challenging for any photographer as there are shots everywhere. |

Kim, very impressive mill shot! All of the elements to make it a great image are here - the silky smooth waters, the sharp detail in the bridge and the mill, and the supporting natural elements of the rocks and the trees.
The tilting building is a slight concern bit overall I think you nailed it! |

Dick, I do like the overall impact of these falls. The fallen limb adds interest for me as it tries to keep me from going further up the falls.
Sharpening issues? Try using a layer in your sharpening and then back off it. By clicking on the eye you can see the impact your new layer has on the overall image.
I might consider a tighter crop to take out the upper region (just whee the rock intersects them) as it appears slightly over-exposed. there is enough interest in the rest of the falls to carry it. |

I'm with the new guy on this one, John. While I do commend your eye in catching this activity, it does appear flat - especially the darker tones. Contrast boost, maybe?
Good composition with the man off to the right and the bulk of the plane in the scene. |

Welcome to PID 17, Peter!
Thanks for the feedback on my industrial image.
I was leaning more toward, "Boss Lady" for a title but I think Dick's has a nicer ring to it. As for the image itself, I do like the interaction between the two main subjects - immersed in their reading. Glad to see they did not have their noses stuck in their iPhones - testament to the older generation, perhaps. Think you handled the lighting well considering the time of day. Maybe a little punch in the contrast might darken down the brighter areas.
Looking forward to seeing more of your work and hear your comments! |
