After some conversation with others who photographed her that day, it was pointed out that there was a ring light on the floor facing the model - hence the circular light under her pupil.
Thanks for the feedback - I did manage to "fix" her up before submitting her into competition. |

Glenn, I did stop here and did some meditating, thanks.
My first impression was the interesting lead-in from the lower step up to the bowl and to the falling water and the bushes. while the monochromatic was the way to go, I thought there was a lack of the tonal range. I keep hearing that there should be definite whites and blacks in a good B&W image. My desktop monitor does not show these extremes. |

Welcome to PID 17, Ursula! Most interesting temple. I especially like the detail in those structures protruding from the roof. The inclusion of the man gave me an idea as just how big this temple is as first glance made me think of more of a chapel.
I did take it into post-processing where I tried to get a little more color separation between the temple and the sky, also I cropped out the tree on the right. Unfortunately I did introduce a new color into the sky - more time and I would have eliminated that. |

Great grab, Kim! As I have mentioned several times, I am not a birder so these opportunities slip by. I like the chase action you captured. Also, your handling of the background was done just right, the slightly out-of-focus trees gave me an idea of where you were without taking away from the cranes.
There is excellent sharpness in the right bird while I thought there was a small amount of softness in the wing feathers. This would be nit-picking on an outstanding image. |

Dolores, lots to look at here! Great thought to use the foreground tree to frame the house. I liked the picketed fence's location as I found it as trying to keep me away from the house. Yes, the house does appear to be a little flat - any contrast in it?
Not much you could do about it but that solitary tree trunk is somewhat of a distraction as it blocked out part of that house. A move to the left would have taken it out BUT you would have added more of that less-than complimentary sky.
Finally liked the detail in the tree and the ground cover. |

Dick, you certainly have the eye! This is another most interesting image that I probably would have walked by. I think the off-centered landscape "photo" works for me. Your inclusion of the wall to the left adds to my interest. I didn't notice the black pipe until others mentioned it.

John, I truly enjoyed looking in, around and through your church interior. As noted by others, I liked the symmetry, the detail (despite being without a tripod), and the warm color tones.
I think St. David's would appreciate a copy of this. |
