Your photo was fun to play with Yvonne. I had Topaz denoise and sharpen before I purchase Lightroom Classic, so I'm more comfortable with the Topaz tools. It was interesting to see the different variations of your image created by Sylvia and Sabine. |

Linda, I think both the original and this portrait are nice photos, each telling a story of their own. I like how the morning dew on the Mavericks petals, stem and leaf diffuses the morning light creating a soft velvet like texture. I can almost feel the softness. Very nice image. |

Douglas, this is very well composed B&W image. Amazing leading lines on the left, right and center leading upwards with a cloud in the sky. Everything is very sharp across the photo. The dual towers of the church are amazing and nearly perfectly balanced in front of the Atlas. Yvonne's reference to the symbolism of Atlas aligned with the strength of the church is spot on. Great job! |

Yvonne, I like water reflections and enjoy looking at your composition. My eye is immediately drawn to the white feather. At the same time, the large rock is pulling my attention away from the feather. Since I enjoy the composition in the lower right corner more, I decided to download your image and try a few things. I applied topaz denoise and sharpen tools just a little. In lightroom, I applied a linear mask from the bottom to the bottom of the feather and reduced exposure just a little and increased the temperature a little. I cropped the image to eliminate the large rock and then eliminated small distractions in the water in photoshop. In Lightroom, I applied a radial mask with a wide feather in areas of the clouds and increased temperature a little. Then I applied a light vignette to darken the corners a little. What do you think? |

Sylvia, it takes a very creative mind to produce a composition like this. I'm drawn to the colors and textures and the life cycle story, but more than anything, I see this image "like something by the old masters", as Sabine stated. I do think the foliage in the lower right corner of your image is a distraction and though I really like the image that Sabine created, I would also remove the dead flower petals in the right side of her image. I downloaded and played with your image for a while and could not produce anything that I thought was a real improvement over either image, but it was a joy trying. Very nice job. |

Randy, the early morning light is perfect to reflect this beautiful and serene image. I like the color and pattern of the wet sand caused by the receding ocean waves. The three evenly staggered cliff formations preceded by the dark right corner of the photo leads me to the beautiful pastel colors that can only be seen at this time of day. I think the blue sky with clouds reflecting the early morning light make the progression of dark to light in this image is perfect. I really enjoy this photo and see no reason to change a thing. Very well done. |

Sabine, when I first looked at your photo, I thought you had painted the flower blossoms in the foreground. Then when looking at your original photo and reading about the minimal post processing work you performed, I was surprised and impressed. The scene with its water, mountains and clouds are beautiful and well composed. The color contrast between the very sharp and brightly colored flowers with the softly lite landscape background is so striking, I could be convinced that the whole scene is illusory, or a scene from a child's fairytale. As I review your image, I notice that there are three tulips that touch the far shoreline. I'm not sure that is a distraction at all, but it is something I notice every time. The photo is a powerful and beautiful image. Very well done. |

Michael, beautiful shot of this hummingbird. I have never seen a Sword Billed Hummingbird before, so this is a treat to see one, especially with its tongue extended. Nice job. |

Leslie, this is a very nice photo. The color is crisp and the plumage and eyes are sharp. How lucky to catch this pose of the male and three females. |

Mike, really great color and detail in the plumage. A moving parenting scene over the chick. Great eye sharpness in both the mother and chick. Very nice photo. |

Ted, nice action shot with one duck and its catch and the other about ready to steal the fish from the other. |

Veysi, I like how everything is sharp with a background that is blurred just enough. The bird is perfectly exposed with great color, and the catch of a frog in its beak makes this a great image. Very nice job. |

Tom, what a great shot. The eye and red markings around the eye and the colourful beak immediately draw my attention and the bird is very sharp. The green background is processed well. I always enjoy seeing birds you post that I have never seen before. Well done Tom. |
