Sabine, my apologies, my response to your comments was made some time ago, but for some reason they were not saved.
I intend to revisit this photo and experiment with suggestions from everyone's comments, but it is your work dividing the composition into 3rds and cropping to 2:3 ratio that has had the most impact on me. I can see this change has greatly improved the image. Also, I'm glad that the scene reminds you of a song you know. Thank you Sabine.

Randy, thanks for your feedback and I appreciate the time you spent working on the image. I'm curious, were the adjustments made globally, or did you target certain areas? With other recommendations from the group, I will experiment with the tools you mentioned. Thanks again Randy. |

I like the vignette. I'm always cautious with how much vignette to apply but yours looks good. I'm undecided about how much vibrancy you added, but I will revisit this photo and experiment. Thanks Doug for your feedback, much appreciated. |

Thank you Sylvia, your comment about the clown made me smile. The town created a Halloween theme on the pathway through their woods, that included the clown and many other scary things. |

Yvonne, very interesting architectural photo. My comments are in line with most of the other comments from the group. You did well to compose this image of the building, night sky and the lamp post with tree leaves as well as your post processing performed. Wherever I look, my eye continues to be drawn to the brightest part of the image. I found that to be a little distracting, so I applied a diagonal linear mask over the brightest area only and tried to reduce the highlights a bit to tone down the brightness. I also like the light from the lamppost with the leaves and applied a circular mask over the leaves to brighten them a little, which adds a little more interest to the image in my mind. I like your photo and I hope you don't mind the adjustments made. Thank you for sharing. |

Sylvia, to my eye, I think your exposure was pretty good. No blown out highlights, and the black store fronts set the mood in your story of a dying mall. The image is very sharp with great depth of field. I really like how my eye is drawn through the image with all the leading lines from front on both sides, to the furthest back end of the image. The emptiness throughout emphasizes the story being told. Really a very nice image and I wouldn't change a thing. Great job! |

Douglas, great B&W. The photo tells a great story and of course, the cute dog pulls it all together. The composition is done very well complete with all the right props. Your post processing was done well. Great job! |

Linda, I like the post-process you have done with this photo. I like even more what the image says to me. Two men in conversation, the younger talking to the elder who is listening intently and whose body language indicates a seriousness or emotional topic. There are no distracting elements affecting my concentration as I view your image. Only two men in conversation over a glass of wine. This is a very nice photo, great job! |

Sabine, what an interesting event. When I view this image, the lead cyclist draws my eye into all the remaining cyclists on their vintage bikes and then onto all the architectural details. I think your composition is excellent. I can almost feel the excitement and mood of the participants. Everything across this image is very sharp. Very well done. For me, the white border tends to pull my eye away from the image itself. I wonder if a darker border would help to keep my view inside the frame. But that is just my feeling. This is a very nice scene. |

Randy, this is a beautiful landscape. Every detail across the image is tac sharp and the colors are so vibrant. I like the texture and color of the sky and the mist above the tree line. Your exposure settings really capture the natural cascade of the waterfall. It's as though I am viewing this image as I am standing alongside you while you click away. I think you succeeded very well in enhancing these features. Great job! |

Mike, I have visited this photo many times and I see this image as an abstract. The varying shades of brown and shades of grey, associated with similar but different size shapes, keeps drawing my interest to explore all parts of the photo. Very nicely done. |

Leslie, try as I might, I've never seen an owl to photograph. I'm jealous. This one is really very nice especially shown in its habitat with great colors. The owl is sharp, the eyes stunning and the the separation between the owl and all its surrounding is perfect. Very nice image. |

Tom, thanks for your kind words. Yes, I paid the bird for this pose...in bird seed. I was lucky to catch this bird as he was making a turn. I expect he/she will return this spring, along with the family, to feast on the feeders. Truth be told, I'm kind of lucky its the grackle's attracted to my feeds and not the crows. |

Tom, I think this is a great action shot. The colors across the image compliment the bird nicely. The beak, eye and water droplets are sharp, and your shutter speed of 125th is perfect for a realistic water shake. Well done! |

Veysi, this is a beautifully composed photo. Three birds with perfect distance from each other in different poses, forming an arch with a great water reflection. When I look at this image, I immediately think of a Chinese drawing/painting of the water with Herons. Great job! |
