9 Jan 26 Comment Linda, not having an art background, it is challenging for me to describe what I see in your photo. So, forgive me if I'm not leaving you a clear description of what I see. The more I look at your buildings and black water reflections, I see a pen stippling, or fine pen line drawings, with wonderful color in the boat and some parts of the buildings, with almost a three dimensional view. The angle of the buildings are also leading lines to the center of your image. The wonderful blazing sunset colors also act as leading lines to the center of this image. This process of studying the photo in order to describe what I see also has given me a greater appreciation of your work. Very nice image. Jan 27th

9 Jan 26 Reply That sounds interesting, looking forward to seeing your work. Jan 14th
9 Jan 26 Reply I wondered if that was a sunset behind clouds. Thank you Sabine. Jan 14th
9 Jan 26 Comment Randy, great landscape shot. Horizon line in a good position, greats leading lines to Mt Hood with mountains on either side of the roadway and river. Great interest throughout the image and I like the color throughout. The brown color of the mountain side is not a distraction for me, but I agree with Sabine's comments about adding global contrast, and I think adding a slightly dark and small vignette would direct attention to the leading lines going to Mt Hood. Very nice shot. Jan 13th
9 Jan 26 Comment Douglas, this is a very nice image depicting the Christmas season. To me, the chandelier with its lit candles along with the three colorful books on the table alone are the main subject of this photo. Most of the remaining objects in this image are somewhat distractions to me. You didn't really say why you weren't entirely satisfied with your post processing, I thought I would make some changes that I think would appeal more to my taste. Starting with lightroom classic, I created several masks throughout to make multiple adjustments. Then using photoshop, I removed some things to emphasize more of the beauty of the chandelier, books and table. I also added a vignette to bring more attention to the center. Time constraints didn't permit fine tuning the adjustments I made, but my intent is to demonstrate how the changes I made might help you identify what your concerns are. Jan 13th
9 Jan 26 Comment Yvonne, this is a great image. When I first looked at this, it reminded me of the 1960's TV series of the "Twilight Zone", shown at the beginning of each episode.
I really like the mix of various shapes, lines, dots and the varying shades of B&W. This alone makes for a great image. What makes this image really pop to me, of course, is the outline of your nephew who really seems to enjoy what he sees. While the colored image is interesting and fun to look at, the B&W is more impactful to me. Fantastic image.

9 Jan 26 Comment Sabine, I researched Miniatur-wunderland which I found to be very interesting. The craftsmanship in the creation of each detail is fascinating alone. Thanks for sharing that info.
Your photo is sharp and has so many interesting points of interest to examine. The composition with the leading lines, as mentioned by others, is really done well, leading to St. Michael's church then to the beautiful glowing light in the sky. I think the lone shining light hear the top of the church tower really adds a finishing touch to a beautiful scene.

9 Jan 26 Reply Thank you Charles. I took this image during my days at the botanical gardens in Hamburg. The image is already off center in both axis (mistakenly), and experimenting now with the rule of thirds didn't really appeal to me. Jan 13th
9 Jan 26 Reply Thanks Douglas, never made it to Woodstock, but It does remind one of the good old days of tie-dyed clothing. Jan 13th
9 Jan 26 Reply Thank you Sabine. What you see is not an illusion Sabine, you are correct. I didn't take enough care at the time of the exposure and the center of the blossom is off centered in both axis within the frame. Recently, I tried different crops in post processing, but nothing looked good to me, so I left as is. Lessons learned. Jan 13th
9 Jan 26 Reply Thank you Sylvia.

9 Jan 26 Comment Sylvia, you have created a beautiful holiday photo. Every detail is sharp; the mix of colors with the red cloth is perfect. I think the right side of your image affects the balance of your composition. Cropping the image from left to center, just right of the edge of the book, I think would make this image perfect. I always enjoy your still life photos and impressed with your still life techniques. I am curious to know what your light source is. Jan 9th

21 Jan 26 Reply Thanks Tom. Just like my comment above; I didn't notice the light difference between the two legs, but will revisit this image and make the necessary adjustment. Jan 15th
21 Jan 26 Reply Thank you Leslie. I appreciate the feedback. Until you mentioned it, I honestly didnt even notice the leaves at the bottom of the image during post processing. Jan 15th
21 Jan 26 Reply Thank you Michael, I'll give that a try. Jan 15th
21 Jan 26 Reply Thank you Ted. I just happened to be at the right place at the right time to get this shot with the floral setting. The bird flew away moments after I took this shot. Jan 15th
21 Jan 26 Comment Michael, beautiful bird in flight with wings fully extended against a Great sky. I like tom's added space at the bottom. Jan 14th
21 Jan 26 Comment Very nice, interesting image. Great detail and sharpness of the bird and thistle with a perfect background. Complementary colors throughout are pleasing to the eye. I'm undecided if this photo suffers with the lack of tail. Still, very nice. Jan 14th
21 Jan 26 Comment Great photo Ted, sharp across the image with very crisp branches, great pose of the bird against a nice bokeh background and positioned nicely within the frame. Great job. Jan 14th
21 Jan 26 Comment Amazing action capture, beautiful image. Jan 14th
21 Jan 26 Comment Mike, very nice shot of this Graylag. Sharp across the image and perfect in flight position. The color from tail to beak is beautiful, even a few water droplets off the feet. Background color complements the bird nicely. Great job. Jan 14th

42 Jan 26 Comment Charles, your photo is eye catching with the flower cropped at top and bottom and the position of the butterfly off center. Colors are fantastic, especially as the red color darkens towards the edge of each flower petal. The black background helps make this image pop. This is a beautiful photo. Jan 13th
