9 Oct 25 Reply My uploaded version doesn't look that much different than your photo. Not sure why that is. In any case, i enjoy viewing your each time I look at it. Oct 20th

9 Oct 25 Comment Linda, this is a very interesting, eye-catching photo. Each of the five buildings by themselves has great leading lines, but the shape of windowpanes in each also have their own leading lines, taking my view to the top center of your photo. The image is sharp and the color throughout adds to the beauty of this photo. I think that Yvonne's suggestion to remove the trees, if possible, leaving only the shed structure with triangular shapes, completes this image. Thank you for your very descriptive details of your photo. Very nicely done. Oct 16th
9 Oct 25 Comment Yvonne, I like your perspective when taking this photo and that you flipped the image horizontally. I like your crop as well. I think the trees on the left and right side of your photo create a nice frame around the bridge. There is so much to see in this image that I found myself focusing on certain elements that appealed to me, i.e. the bridge, the moss-covered branches, the waterfalls, the cliff face, and the foliage throughout the image. I think you did a great job with your post processing, and I don't have any advice for improvements. I enjoyed your image so much that I did play with your photo in Lightroom using masks and making slight adjustments in each of the areas I mentioned above to suit my taste, which is to create a little more separation from each other. This is purely my subjective perspective, and I had no more success than you with the waterfalls. Thank you for sharing, very nice image. Oct 14th

9 Oct 25 Comment Doug, this is a lovely landscape image. My eye goes directly to the pond with the small structure and its reflection at the water's edge. The details found throughout the rolling hills and woodlands add interest and beauty to the overall scene. Everything is sharp across the image, and I like the 2x3 crop you have chosen, leaving enough space between the foot bridge and creek at the bottom of the frame. The clouds really add interest to this image. I might desaturate the blue just a little. Overall, this is a great landscape. Great job. Oct 13th
9 Oct 25 Comment Randy, Hibiscus is one of my favorite blossoms to take photos of. You did well to capture the detail and blue color in each of the five blossom petals nicely. I really like the pollen sprinkled on the lower leaf that adds interest to this image for me. I like Sabines vignette that does separate the blossom more from the background, bringing more attention to the beauty of this blossom. Capturing details in the center of the blossom can be challenging without the use of a tripod, but you did well with this photo using hand-held settings. Very well done. Oct 12th

9 Oct 25 Comment Sabine, the information I read about the Siena Cathedral and the historical significance of the Piccolomini Library was very interesting. Your photo captures the exquisite details of the library nicely while maintaining much of the fine detail in the stain-glass windows using the same exposure setting. The facial expression of the tourist in the room reveals a sense of awe at what they see and adds interest to this image. The distortion from the focal length used is can be a distraction but adds a certain artistic quality to this image that is pleasing to me. I can just imagine how overwhelming it must feel to see everything in this room. Very well done. Thank you for sharing. Oct 12th
9 Oct 25 Comment Sylvia, I like this image. There is just enough light touching all items and the arrangement is perfect for these items to set the mood, especially the skull, which I hope isn't a relative of yours. The face and eyes pull me into the scene, leaving me with an eerie sense and curiosity. The same could be said about the color version, except that the skull doesn't have the same effect on me as your B&W. I agree with Sabine that used candle sticks would add a little more mystic to this image. Regardless, I enjoy this image each time I see it and I think you are very successful with this still life creation. Oct 12th

21 Oct 25 Comment Mike, great shot to catch a mother navigating the waters while carrying a chick on her back. Mother nature at its best. Both birds are sharp with very good detail in the feathers. The black and white markings are really pronounced, and I am drawn from the start to the red eyes of both birds. Water transparency is nice. My personal taste would be to create a mask on the water and reduce texture and clarity just a bit to soften the water, creating a little more separation from the water and bird. Very nice image. 21 Oct 25 Comment Great shot Marilyn. The bird on its perch is very sharp across the image, and the colors are just stunning. I can get lost just by navigating through its colorful feathers. It's a great pose of this bird on its perch against a very soft background. I like this tight crop as well. Really a very nice image. Oct 13th
21 Oct 25 Reply I've only been taking bird photo's these past 2 years, so I have a limited inventory. I don't get out often enough with my camera for birds But, most of my submittals have been recent shots taken within a few months. Oct 13th
21 Oct 25 Comment Don, this is a great shot of a Cormorant. I like the side profile shot in the warm early morning sunlight, gently highlighting its physical features nicely, especially the turquoise eye color. Love the posture of this bird resting on a tree branch, with plenty of clearance from other tree branches, making a good story. Good choice in crop size. I've never seen a Cormorant in a tree before and seeing its webbed feet griping the branch is neat. All this against a great blue sky. Really very nice. Oct 13th
21 Oct 25 Comment Leslie, what a beautifully colored black and red bird with such an unusually shaped crest. I think I do see the tip of its beak. The branch, moss and leaves along with the background do make this a great natural setting. Very nice shot. Oct 12th
21 Oct 25 Comment Ted, I've tried a dozen times over the past two years to catch a king fisher, in any position, and have always been disappointed with my shots. You have done well to capture this one in flight diving for its meal. I like the mix of the soft green and brown colored foliage for the background. Leaping from the branch adds to the story nicely. Really great effort Ted, better than I have ever succeeded at. Oct 12th
21 Oct 25 Comment This is a very pleasing image to look at Mike. The group of geese with full open wings in flight, good distance from each other and each bird very sharp. The background color works well with this image with no distractions. Very nice Mike. Oct 12th
21 Oct 25 Comment Tom, at first glance, I thought what a great shot to catch this warbler on the open beak of whatever bird this was. It was a few seconds before it registered with me and then I laughed. This is a great shot of the warbler sitting on the water fountain. Very sharp with a great catch light. Together, this image tells a great story. Very nice work Tom. Oct 12th

21 Oct 25 Reply Thank you Leslie. In this instance, I'm not sure why the blue is not darker. This was taken in the early morning with back lite overcast lighting, which may have had some effect on the color. Also, the color may have changed somewhat during post processing, but not to the extent of a complete changing in color. I no longer have the raw file, but I did attach another photo (untouched) of the same bird taken when it flew away, showing that the crown is dark, but there is still some blue. It is a mystery. 42 Oct 25 Comment Charles, the sepia tint is a nice touch to an old WNY rustic scene. Great exposure. I like your composition, but I'm really impressed with the sharpness and detail across the image, especially in the blacks between the tree and barn. Very nice image. Oct 16th
