Thank you Linda for your thoughtful and kind feedback. Your artistic interpretation of my image is interesting and very much appreciated. I have reviewed your version several times since you posted which appeals to me more and more. I will revisit my original and experiment with a vertical crop and see if I find something I like. Thanks again Linda. |

Linda, your description prepares the viewer to appreciate even more the ambiance and character of this image. You did well to capture this image with your cell phone during a casual walk through the area. The colors of the house are stunning and the detail and color of the door and brick landing reflect a history and story that is itching to be told. Very nice photo. |

Randy, this is a great image. Composition and framing are done very well. The many leading lines from all directions in the structure form interesting shapes, creating a roadmap that leads me to the different areas of interest throughout the image. The color and detail of the sky and structure are very realistic. I think the shadow accentuates the design. You have a very good architectural eye. This is a captivating image for me to view.
I much prefer the original photo over your conversion to b&w where the grays seem just a little flat to me, and the missing brick at the peak appears more obvious in this image.

Thank you Sabine. I like your adjustment with a lighter cap. Your feedback is the second comment regarding crop size which makes me want to revisit my original and play around more with crop size, foreground and background. It is sometimes challenging for me to determine what crop size is most appropriate, and how close is too close. Thanks again for your feedback Sabine, much appreciated. |

Thanks Douglas. Your feedback helps me consider a different perspective not thought of before. I will take some time to revisit this image and explore including a little more foreground/background and maybe a little more sharpness in the background. |

Douglas, Interesting subject matter. Because the stickers are applied so neatly, I thought there might be a relationship to one another, but found none. I like the conversion to B&W and your post processing is done very well. |

Sabine, thank you for including all three photos along with the background description that tell a very interesting story. The composition, depth of field, sharpness and colors in all three photos are really done well. But the second photo appeals to me the most. This is a nice action shot of the dog while herding the sheep. His face is focused and sharp while intently doing his job while on the run. Very nice. |

Yvonne, a beautiful warm and inviting scene. Your framing of the two swans from the surrounding tall weeds and the soft colors of the trees and sky in the background are perfect and the softening of the water is done very well. Removal of the distraction in the upper right corner of the image would be good. I played with this image in LrC, but any of the changes I made were made for my personal taste and didn't vary much from your original. I did add a very slight vignette which I thought brought more focus to the center of the image for me. Very nice image. |

Thank you Yvonne. You mention character; The more I look at the stem of this mushroom, I begin to see two eyebrows, a nose and mouth, in a cartoonish way. |

Yvonne, my apologies. It seems my upload of an image for Sylvia, I inadvertently enlarged your image for Sylvia somehow. |

Sylvia, Butterfly and flowers are in focus and sharp. Color, Texture and detail captured in the wings are done very well. You can almost count the individual hairs on the body.
Your composition tells a nice story of nature, so while maintaining that theme, I cropped your image to a 7x5 format to bring more focus to the butterfly and surroundings and removed some things I thought were a little distracting. What do you think?

Mike, this is an interesting story about two Graylags and a stick, but I'm not sure if the story is about the lack of teamwork, or a battle of possession. I'm guessing it's about possession.
You have done well to compose each frame so there is enough separation between each bird during an activity that contributes to the story. I'm now curious to learn how to create a polyptych. Nice job.

Leslie, always a pleasant surprise to see a bird I've never seen before in this forum. The off white and white feather differential is nicely detailed. The blue coloring in the beak, feet and head feathers are very attractive colors. The branch and the bird are in focus and sharp with just enough separation from the bird and its background. Very nice photo. |

Marilyn, very nice photo. I've never seen this duck before which is fun for me to see. The color of the birds is great and very nicely captured in your photo. The birds are in focus and sharp. Great pose of the birds sitting on an interesting branch with a nice blue background. This image does not suffer with only 2 vs. 3 birds. Great job. |

Don, nice capture. I like your composition, spacing of the three birds equally spaced nicely in one diagonal and then the tree branch in another diagonal. Very simple and pleasing image. Nicely done. |

Michael, really a very nice shot. Composition is done well, everything in focus and sharp, water color is perfect with a great reflection of the birds head. The birds pose is perfect with great eye catch light. The water movement really adds nice action to this photo. Great job. |

Thank you Michael. You are correct. The tree branch in front of the bird is out of focus. My depth of field setting was a bit soft and in hind sight, I should have increased to F8 or higher. Lessens learned for the next time. |

Tom, Everything about his action image is done well. The detailed feather patterns with the colors of brown and greens are captured very nicely. The bird's red eye just above the water line is sharp and is a focal point for me. The birds' legs and beak, shown through the light refraction in the water adds nice interest. This is a really nice shot. |
